Canon M50 Mark i Unboxing and Review. Decided not to purchased the upgrade version of the Mark ii as the difference between the two was not worth the price increase. Purchased the Mark i on B&H Photo. I also purchased several accessories to go along with my new DSLR.

 

I did thorough research prior to deciding on the M50. I was considering Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, etc. I did over one week’s worth of research before settling in on the Canon M50.

Main deciding factors for me:

*** Super easy to use, has a touch screen display

*** Display can rotate for selfies

*** Excellent default photo lenses (no brainer for beginners)

*** Decent battery life on stock battery and it comes with a charger

*** Cold shoe mount located in a good position that doesn’t interfere with filming

*** Lightest and smallest DSLR compared to others so perfect for traveling

*** Great price point when I got it at $549 with the stock lens

*** Popular camera so lots of YouTube resources available to help & plenty of compatible accessories options

*** LOVE the autofocus!!!

*** Plenty of easy-to-use features for beginners. Also has many advanced features for growth.

*** Can record several minutes of videos without heating up. When it does heat up, it cools down fast. (From personal experience with using this DSLR in the hot & humid Maldives)

 

I’m new to DSLR world so this video is created through the eyes of someone who is testing out this camera for the first time. I am NOT a photo or camera expert.
